A Song Bird is Silenced
Grammy-winning R&B artist Natalie Cole died December 31 at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles succumbing to the effects of long-term health issues.
According to a family spokesperson, “Natalie fought a fierce, courageous battle, dying how she lived … with dignity, strength and honor. Our beloved Mother and sister will be greatly missed and remain UNFORGETTABLE in our hearts forever,” read the statement from her son Robert Yancy and sisters Timolin and Casey Cole. Chicago Starts 2016 with a Bang
Chicago has started the New Year with its first murder. ABC News (via World Net Daily) reports that a 24 year-old man was shot in the chest a few minutes after 2 am New Year’s morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene
This murder begins another year of murder in the Windy City.
“While overall crime went down in the city last year, murders and shooting incidents were on the rise in 2015, police reports show. There were 468 reported murders in the city in 2015, a 13 percent increase from 2014, according to police,” according to ABC News.
I have a question for former Chicago mayor Rahm “We can’t let a good crisis go to waste” Emanuel: How is this crisis working out for you, Mr. Mayor? You have some of the strictest gun control laws in the nation, and yet your city had 468 murders last year. Your city is not safe. Not a good supporting argument for the president and all who oppose gun ownership.
How many people will be murdered in Chicago this year? The count has already started.
New Law Oks Open Carry in Texas
On January 1, 2016, Texas became the most populous state to allow the open carry of holstered hand guns. It is also legal in Texas to carry a long gun (rifle) in public. (The Guardian via World Net Daily)
When Texas approved concealed carrying of hand guns, the crime rate fell dramatically. It will be interesting to read the 2016crime stats next year. My bet is violent crime will drop significantly.
Contrary to the “we fear everything and everyone so we have to control everything” attitude of the political and philosophical left, the vast majority of Americans can be trusted: to raise their children, work hard, take care of themselves, obey the law, and protect themselves. This includes carrying a firearm safely and sensibly.
The left, especially the president and Hillary “The Dragon Lady” Clinton, really needs to just sit down, sit on their collective hands, and shut up. We will all be safer and better off when they do.
Big Money in Mass Murder
According to CNSNews, the mass murderers at Planned Parenthood report that in the fiscal year ending on September 30, 2014, 323,999 unborn babies were murdered and they received $553.7 million of our money in the form of “government health services grants and reimbursements” to kill them.
We paid Planned Parenthood $1,708.96 per baby killed. That is the price our society places on an unborn life. Disgusting!
Congress is complicit in continuing this atrocity. The Omnibus spending bill, recently passed by Congress and signed by the president, continues to fund the butchers at Planned Parenthood for the next fiscal year.
Everyone who believes as I do should go online and check how their U.S. Senator and their representative in the House voted on the Omnibus (House Vote) (Senate Vote). All of Congress who voted for the Omnibus needs to go.
This is an election year and the entire House of Representatives, all 435 of them, and fully one-third of the Senate are up for re-election. Throw the bums out and replace them with men and women of integrity who will protect the unborn.
