Guy Benson reports on Town Hall Tip Sheet that President Obama has missed 62 per cent of his daily intelligence briefings in 2011 and 2012. In addition, the president, according to Benson, was scheduled to attend his first intelligence briefing since September 5, at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, the day after the attacks,
…but it was canceled so that he could comfort grieving employees at the State Department — as well he should. But instead of rescheduling the intelligence briefing for later in the day, Obama apparently chose to skip it altogether and attend a Las Vegas fundraiser for his re-election campaign. One day after a terrorist attack.
I recognize that a president’s schedule is extremely demanding, especially in the teeth of a campaign, so passing on these meetings occasionally would be understandable. I cannot, however, fathom how the president could justify canceling and not re-scheduling his intelligence briefing the day after an active US Ambassador was murdered in the line of duty, and as an international crisis continues to spread.”
While President Obama fiddles around, the Middle East is starting to burn. Fox News reports the attacks are spreading.
Protesters angered by a film they consider blasphemous to Islam have stormed the U.S. Embassy compound in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, in the most recent attack on U.S. diplomatic posts in the Middle East.
Protesters smashed windows as they breached the embassy perimeter and reached the compound grounds, although they did not enter the main building housing the offices. Angry young men brought down the U.S. flag in the courtyard, burned it and replaced it with a black banner bearing Islam’s declaration of faith — “There is no God but Allah.”
In Iraq, a Shiite leader in Sadr City threatened violence against U. S. interests in Iraq. Asaib Ahl al-Haq, threatened anti-U.S. attacks. In addition, according to Fox News, protestors in Baghdad, Iraq, demanded closure of the U.S. Embassy there.
In Iran, “…about 50 protesters shouted, ‘Death to America,’ outside the Swiss Embassy, which looks after U.S. diplomatic interests in Iran,” according to Fox News.
The president is derelict in his duties.
By skipping his intelligence briefings, he missed information pertaining to a failed attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last June, information that may have prevented Tuesday’s fatal attack.
The president also missed, or ignored, the fact that Ambassador Anne Patterson forbids the U.S. Marines who guard the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, to carry live ammunition. It is simply insane to handcuff the people charged with your protection, especially in an extraordinarily volatile part of the world like the Middle East.
What other information has the president missed? Where will the next attack strike? How many more Americans will die due to the cavalier attitude of the president? One thing is abundantly clear — President B. Hussein Obama has no clue.
The question is always raised on the anniversary of the 9-11 attacks is whether America safer now than before 9-11. Considering current events and the president’s mishandling of foreign policy, the unfortunate answer is a resounding NO!
Obama’s fawning acolytes in the media cannot deflect this deadly debacle away from the president by focusing on his opponent’s supposed misspeak. Additionally, Obama cannot blame his inept, inappropriate, and amateurish bungling of this broadening crisis on anyone but himself.
It is time for a regime change in Washington, D.C.
