In Tunis, Tunisia, Reuters reports that Tunisian protesters jumped over the wall of the U.S. embassy compound in Tunis on Friday and broke windows and set fire to trees.  A large fire could be seen burning inside the compound.

Reuters reports protester killed by gunfire during demonstration over anti-Islam film near U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

Sudanese demonstrators pushed a burning police car at the U.S embassy in Khartoum, Sudan, Friday, September 14, 2012.  Three people were killed on Friday during a demonstration against an anti-Islam film outside the U.S. embassy in Sudan.

Protesters set fire to the American School in Tunis September 14, 2012, which and took away laptops and tablet computers.  At least three people died and 28 others were wounded on Friday after police fought hundreds of protesters who also ransacked the U.S. embassy in Tunisia in their fury over a U.S.-made film insulting the Prophet Mohammad.

Muslim students staged anti-American protests in Islamabad, Pakistan Friday.

“One demonstrator was killed and two others were wounded in clashes with security forces in the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli on Friday in protests over a film insulting the Muslim Prophet Mohammad and against the pope’s visit to Lebanon.  A security source said the man was killed as protesters tried to storm a government building.  Earlier, a U.S. fast food restaurant was set alight,” according to Reuters.

Obama Flashback:
“The Day I’m Inaugurated Muslim Hostility Will Ease”

“Then-Senator Barack Obama makes the case for an Obama Presidency on November 21, 2007 by saying he is uniquely qualified to bring stability to America’s relationships in the Muslim world because he lived in an Islamic country during his youth and his half-sister is Muslim.”  So much for Obama’s “understanding” of the Islamic world.

White House Says Protests Are Not Against U.S.

The all too familiar White House game of shift the blame, “it’s not our fault,” has begun — again!  According the Washington Free Beacon, “White House press secretary Jay Carney said Friday the violent protests throughout the Middle East are not directed at the United States or U.S. policy but are a response to a YouTube video.

“This is not a case of protests directed at the United States writ large or at U.S. policy, this is in response to a video that is offensive to Muslims,” Carney said.

On the surface, this statement is true.  However, it is naive and simplistic.  The video in question served only as a catalyst that set smoldering hatred of the United States, its culture, and its policies ablaze.

The radicals of the Islamic world resent our freedom, especially religious freedom, and liberty to say and do what we want.

We are everything they hate.  To dismiss this violence against our presence as merely displeasure over an obscure video is ill advised and dangerous.  The sooner we recognize this, the safer and more prepared we will be.

Unfortunately, as violent protests spread to Syria, Gaza, Israel, and Afghanistan, this message is lost on Obama and his cadre of clowns.
