On the Lighter Side — Tale of the Talking Fugitive

In story featured on Fox News, New York last Wednesday in Japan, police in Japan were able to learn a captured fugitive’s identity simply by listening to him talk.  The fugitive had escaped his cell in Sagamihara, Japan the previous Sunday.  Once captured, the fugitive refused to say anything to the police.

According to the story, the fugitive “…did not speak until Tuesday evening, when he blurted out the names of the city and district where his owner’s home is located, a police spokesman said.  The stunned cops then listened as the parakeet produced the home’s block and street number.”

The “fugitive” is a pet parakeet who had escaped his cage.  His owner, a 64-year-old woman, had previously lost a parakeet and did not want to lose another.

“So the owner decided to teach the address to this parakeet after she bought it at a pet store two years ago,” a police spokesman said.  “The bird’s name was found to be Piko-chan as it said, ‘You’re pretty, Piko-chan.’”

In the United States, the ACLU would be charging the police with violating the bird’s civil liberties by coercing the bird to give up his identity without the benefit of council and for holding him without bail until his “previous oppressor” could re-enslave him.

Ah, but such is the insanity of the mind of the Left.

Canadian School Considers Christian T-shirt
‘Hate Speech’

From Fox News Radio, a Canadian high school student was suspended for wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with the phrase “Life is WASTED without Jesus.”  The student, William Swinimer, was told if he wears the shirt again, he will be suspended for the rest of the school year.  Since Swinimer is a senior, he probably would not graduate.

School officials told the boy that the shirt was a form of “hate talk” and, according to the school board superintendent, “…the words are ‘problematic.’”

According to the Fox report, “The school does not have a dress code and Swinimer said students wear a variety of t-shirts.  But he said for whatever reason, his Christian shirts seem to get him sent to the office.”

“‘They treat other religions differently than they do Christianity,’ Swinimer said.  ‘The staff and principal and school board have been very hostile toward Christianity.’”

What are Liberals so afraid of that the mere mention of God or Jesus offends them so?  No doubt when Christians openly display their faith, it disrupts their hippie moonchild “We are the World” utopian fantasy of peace and harmony on earth like that depicted in Edward Hicks’ (1780-1849) painting The Peaceable Kingdom.

The Peaceable Kingdom

Edward Hicks, a Quaker, painted more than 60 known versions of The Peaceable Kingdom illustrating the words of Isaiah 11: 4-9 (New King James Version) found online at

I am offended that they are offended.  Their fantasy will never be of this world, no matter what they want.  God reserved a place of eternal glory beside Him for those who choose to take His path.  He gave us free will to choose, but with free will comes the responsibility to live with the consequence of that choice.

This is why they are offended and scared.  They know in their twisted minds and empty hearts that they have made the wrong choice.  My heart goes out to them, but they have closed their minds and their eyes to God and Jesus and refuse to seek His forgiveness.

More “Professionalism” from TSA — Not!

According to a story on, a reporter’s request under the Freedom of Information Act for Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) complaint files took nearly four years to be fulfilled by the agency.

“In my first week at ProPublica in June 2008, I filed a public records request for the agency’s complaint files.  Such records can provide good fodder for investigations,” said Michael Grabell, the article’s author.

“I assumed the TSA would respond in a few months.”  Grabell says.  “Government agencies have about a month to respond to public record requests, though they often take longer.  I figured even if their response took months, I’d be able to repeat it regularly to get a timely, inside look as to what passengers were complaining about and find out about incidents that required some more digging….the files finally arrived this week.”

Now we can add Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) violations to the litany of molestation and sexual assaults and other crimes perpetrated against law-abiding citizens by the TSA.

Taking four years to make a response that is required within 30 days is obstruction.  The TSA cannot hide behind its insanely inefficient policies and practices.  If the Justice Department didn’t spend so much time sending guns to Mexico and suing states for enforcing the law, perhaps they could investigate the crimes of the TSA.

When is the American travelling public going to stand up and say “ENOUGH!”?

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”   ~Benjamin Franklin, 1759

The problem with the TSA is they take away our liberty AND provide no safety.  Did the TSA manage to stop the shoe bomber or the underwear bomber?  Passengers on-board those flights stopped them.

The TSA does not make us safer.  They only demean passengers and destroy one of the fundamental rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

The 4th Amendment is clear and concise.

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”
~Amendment 4 of the United States Constitution,
ratified December 15, 1791.

Even a fifth grader can understand its meaning.  But then we are assuming that the members of Congress who penned the atrocity that enables the TSA and TSA employees are as smart as the average fifth grader.  Neither seems to be the case.

It is past time to eliminate the TSA and implement Israeli-style security.  Israel’s flagship airline, El Al, has not had a hijacking in more than 40 years.  If Israel can protect its citizens in the most dangerous part of the world without infringing on their rights as both citizens and as humans, perhaps we can learn from their example.

If you are curious about the details of the complaints Grabell finally unearthed, here is a link to the complaints: TSA 2008 Complaints.  There are 87 pages of complaints!  They make for intriguing, if not infuriating, reading.

“Those who deny freedom to others deserve it not for themselves.”  ~Abraham Lincoln

A Governor and Legislature with Courage

No, that headline is not a mistake, nor have I gone over the edge to the dark side.  According to a story in the New York Daily News, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed a bill Friday cutting off taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.

“The bill blocks organizations that perform abortions from receiving taxpayer money for the non-abortion services they provide,” according to the Daily News.

The articles continues,

“The state already prohibits the use of public funds for abortions, except in cases where the mother’s life is threatened.  This bill, titled the Whole Woman’s Health Funding Priority Act, is designed to prevent taxpayer dollars from indirectly funding abortions.”

It is gratifying to see a public official and a legislative body stand up to the murdering bullies of Planned Parenthood and their co-conspirators on the Left.

Look for Planned Parenthood to go whining and begging to the president and the un-Justice Department to sue Arizona.

Planned Parenthood will pitch a legal tantrum in order to continue to murder scores of babies, mostly those begat by women of ethnic minority groups, to continue Margaret Sanger’s creepy racist dream

“…to create a race of thoroughbreds,” and eliminate “human weeds, reckless breeders, and spawning… human beings who never should have been born.”
Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood Founder , in Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921 (p. 2), and Pivot of Civilization, referring to immigrants and poor people from

“Kansas, North Carolina, and Texas already have similar legislation, and Indiana, New Jersey, and Wisconsin blocked funding for abortion providers in their state budgets.  But Indiana, Kansas, and North Carolina are facing legal challenges over those measures,” Reuters reported.

“A federal appeals court ruled Friday that Texas cannot ban Planned Parenthood from receiving state funds,” according to the New York Daily News.

The notion that a Federal judge can tell a state how they can or cannot spend their taxpayers’ money is a Constitutional farce, but a 10th amendment discussion of states rights and judicial activism are topics for another day.
