“It is the common fate of the indolent to see their rights become a prey to the active. The condition upon which God hath given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt.” ~ John Philpot Curran, 1790
Americans have become indolent and as such have become, as Curran said, prey to the active. The active in this case is the Left. Whether they call themselves progressives, liberals, or social democrats, they are all the same and for the past 100 years, they have been actively, albeit quietly, stealing our liberty.
Now, liberty, both here and abroad, faces a new enemy: the United Nations.
They too have been a silent and creeping adversary to liberty, eroding our God-given rights through the complicity of fellow travelers within every level of our government.
First it was the UN Declaration on Human Rights, an oh so noble sounding document that threatens our rights under the Constitution. Then the Kyoto Accords tried to establish global governance of pollution control. The UN Law of the Sea Treaty would have limited the rights of our commercial and war ships to free access to the world’s oceans.
One of the most insidious is Agenda 21, a UN fantasy of sustainable development that many local agencies use as a template to control how private property is used.
The most blatant attack on our fundamental liberty is the proposed UN Small Arms Treaty. This treaty, supported by the president and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, is a global power grab to disarm the world’s population.
The UN Small Arms Treaty is a direct violation of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. But then, the Constitution is superfluous to B. Hussein Obama and the Dragon Lady.
This brings me to the most recent attempt at one world government by the United Nations.
According to a Fox News article, the UN is set to issue planet-wide rules governing food production and water.
“An environmental report issued by an agency of the United Nations last month has some critics sounding the alarm, saying it is a clarion call for ‘global governance’ over how the Earth is managed.
“The report, ‘21 Issues for the 21st Century,’ from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Foresight Process, is the culmination of a two-year deliberative process involving 22 core scientists,” according to Fox News.
The scientists who wrote the report say it merely “…focuses on identifying emerging issues in the global environment, and that it is not about mandating solutions.” They claim the UN report,
“…suggests actions to save humanity from starvation, the overheating planet and the collapse of the world’s oceans — options that include new “constitutional frameworks,” “international protocols” and a “shared vision” for land and water management that essentially rewire existing treaties and governments.”
However, according to Fox News, their critics disagree, saying it is just a precursor to one-world government by UN fiat.
“This is more utopianism, pie-in-the-sky pleading for ‘global governance,’ including what they acknowledge as ‘novel governance arrangements,’ including, ‘alliances between environmentalist and other civil society groups,’” charged Chris Horner, author of Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud and Deception to Keep You Misinformed, and a senior fellow for energy and environment at the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) in Washington, D.C.
The progression is clear. Take away your property rights, control your human rights, control access to the seas, take away your guns, and then control food and water. This is the Left’s ultimate fantasy come true.
Liberty in the United States and abroad is in danger and its enemy is the collection of thugs, thieves, despots, and corruptocrats called the United Nations and their supporters on the political Left.
The only way we can make our liberty secure is to purge our government, from the local dog catcher to the president, of everyone who hates America and for what it has stood for 236 years. Only then can we limit the dark and insidious creep of global tyranny.
The fight starts here on November 6. Be vigilant, not indolent.
“Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.”
~Thomas Paine: The American Crisis, No. 4, 1777
“The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.” ~ Patrick Henry
