See no evil; hear no evil; speak no evil — Except against Republicans. This is the operative status of the Democratic Party and their enablers on the Left.
However, this morning saw the release of two new polls on the economy and government. The overwhelming results of both polls clearly show that the Washington, D.C., beltway establishment is just not listening.
According to Politico’s Morning Money (PMM),
[In a] Tarrance Group poll conducted for deficit reduction group Public Notice: “[C]oncern over the economy is in the context of voters also believing that the federal government hurts (56%) rather than helps (34%) economic growth, and that the economy is extremely/very impacted by the federal debt (66%). At the same time, voters show no desire to add new regulations to businesses, as a mere 21% say businesses need more federal government regulation (46% say less are needed and 27% say the level should stay the same).”
In another poll, PMM reports that
A JCA/YouGov poll out this morning: “67% (75% of Independents) want to hear about cutting government spending – it was the overwhelming favorite, even above cutting taxes (77%-23%). There is relatively little appetite for more stimulus spending (21%) or new initiatives to protect the environment (26%).”
Even taking into consideration the vagaries of polling, these are overwhelming numbers indicating America is fed up with the status quo in Washington, on both sides of the aisle.
The Left, led by the president and the Democratic Party, refuse to listen. In the last week:
- The president killed thousands of American jobs when he failed to approve the Keystone pipeline project.
- Some of the president’s lackeys in Congress have introduced a bill to extort 100 per cent of “excess” profits of oil and gas companies and create yet another unaccountable board to do it.
- The president’s idea of downsizing government is to combine a half dozen or so agencies into one super agency, saving mere pennies in the $3 trillion plus federal budget.
- Finally, the president has asked Congress to approve another $1.2 trillion in borrowing.
While Americans are getting smarter about the disastrous effects of the Left’s failed policies, the Left just keeps turning a blind eye to their failures, and deaf ears to what the country really needs and what the public wants.
On November 6, all who care about the future of the United States of America should, like the ancient Israelites at Jericho, surround and march silently around Washington, D.C., before proceeding to the polls to metaphorically destroy the walls of the entrenched beltway elite and restore the government of We, the People in America.
