Occupy Wall Street Only Represents Themselves

By Alden L. Benton

“The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.  If ‘Thou shalt not covet’ and ‘Thou shalt not steal’ were not commandments of Heaven, they must be made inviolable precepts in every society before it can be civilized or made free.”  ~John Adams, 1787

Growing up in the 1950s there was a word we used when referring to people who refused to work and lived off the generosity of others: freeloader.

Today the same type of person occupies public places and private property, refuses to work, and demands that the political and economic systems be changed so that they can have everything they want — at other’s expense.  They call themselves Occupy Wall Street; in reality they are anarchists.

Occupy Wall Street is nothing but a bunch of thugs and revolutionaries who want to destroy the American system, and thus America.

In their self-absorbed arrogance, they claim to represent 99 per cent of America.  Well, they don’t represent me and they do not represent anyone who actually works for a living, pays their bills, and expects nothing but a fair chance to succeed in the life they have chosen.

These destroyers want only to create chaos.  Just look at the chaos they caused by blocking the Brooklyn bridge.  Just look at the economic hardships they are causing by their blockade of the port of Oakland, California, the fourth busiest port in the nation.

They, like their radical union supporters (SEIU, NEA, and Teamsters) and the delusional thugs of the Democratic Party, are violent.  Remember the riots, violence, and destruction in Seattle, Washington, during meetings of the International Monetary Fund or during the teachers’ union protests in Wisconsin?

We face myriad problems in this country, but destroying the economic system and replacing our constitutional republic with a communistic dictatorship to install their utopian fantasy is not the answer.

Occupy Wall Street, and their derivatives around the country, is a dangerous fraud.  It is time Americans stop listening to their warped drum beats and grade school chants.  It is time Americans stop listening to the enablers of Occupy Wall Street in the press, the Democratic Party, and the White House.

The clueless lemmings of the Occupy movement are a dangerous distraction from the real problems that plague us.  They have no viable solutions.  They do not represent anyone but themselves.

If you still think Occupy Wall Street is just a harmless, Flea Party of unwashed, recycled radicals from the 1960s, look at the list of communist, Islamist, racist, and other assorted America-hating Occupy Wall Street supporters who all seek to overthrow and fundamentally remake America. Enough!
