Let’s face the facts. Unless you are card-carrying Leftist, everyone knows the president and his policies have failed.
Obama’s policies and decisions are all dismal failures that have sent this country into a steep decline from which it may be difficult to recover.
Failure, especially of this magnitude, breeds desperation.
According to a report on FoxNews.com, the president’s polling numbers are barely above water. The report quotes an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll citing the president’s abysmal ratings.
Obama’s approval rating is at 44 per cent, and his approval rating on the economy is just 37 per cent. The NBC/WSJ poll also shows a mere 19 per cent of Americans think the country is going in the right direction.
With pathetic performance numbers like these, the president desperately needs do something to regain the love and adoration he commanded when he swept into office on the wings of hope and change.
There has been change, alright, but that change has led to disaster for our country and the result is an astounding number of people who now have no homes, no jobs, and no hope.
In attempt to polish the president’s image, the White House announced today (September 6) a reduction of U. S. troops in Iraq to 3,000 by the end of the year. According to FoxNews.com, senior commanders are unhappy with such a drastic and fast withdrawal as the original plan reduced troop levels to 10,000 by the end of the year.
According to the FoxNews.com story (Sources: Obama Administration to Drop Troop Levels in Iraq to 3,000), “‘We can’t secure everybody with only 3,000 on the ground nor can we do what we need to with the Iraqis,’ one source said.”
This move endangers the troops now in Iraq and will put the forces that remain after the first of the year at extreme risk. According to FoxNews.com, “…sources confirm that the administration has pushed the Pentagon to cut the number even lower [than the original 10,000], and commanders are concerned for the safety of the U.S. troops who would remain there.”
This is a crass and amateur decision by an unpopular president trying to regain his lost appeal. The decision is purely political and this accelerated schedule has no other tactical or logistical value. The FoxNews.com article states that “cost and the political optics” were major factors in reducing the troop numbers to 3,000.
It is reprehensible and immoral that any U. S. President gambles with the lives of our young men and women for political gain. This is a bad decision made for the wrong reasons.
The president is interested only in his re-election, not the safety of our troops that he has kept in harm’s way, and not the health, wealth, and safety of the people he took a solemn oath to serve.
The president apparently believes the American people are stupid.
The president is wrong.
He cannot hide his true motives from us this time.
He has shown his true colors, and they are not red, white, and blue.
